Pulled Pork on Onion Rolls with Melted Cheddar

Three Ingredient Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

 Served on Onion Rolls with Melted Cheddar Cheese With Easy Broccoli Slaw


Who knew something so delicious could be so easy? This sweet and savory pulled pork is tender, juicy and flavorful. Broccoli slaw with dried cranberries is yummy and crunchy and works as a great or topping for the pork.

It is s super delicious, super simple dish for super bowl Sunday.  Economical with both time and money this is the perfect meat for a party or great for a make ahead dinner. Remember pulled pork will shrink when cooking. This this dish serves 6-8  people, so double if you are serving a crowd!

PULLED PORK INGREDIENTS

1 – 38 ounce bottle of Hickory Brown Sugar Barbeque Sauce

1 - 18 ounce jar Sweetened Apple Butter

4 pound Pork Shoulder

6 - 8 Onion Rolls

12 - 16 slices of Cheddar Cheese

Butter for rolls

PULLED PORK INSTRUCTIONS 

Mix barbecue sauce and apple butter together.

Place ½ the mixture on the bottom of a large slow cooker.

Place pork shoulder on top. 

Pour the rest of the barbecue sauce and apple butter on top.

Cook 5 to 6 hours on high or 8 to 10 hours on low.  Pork should pull apart easily.

Once pork is done, remove pork from crock pot and place on cutting board. 

Turn slow cooker to “keep warm” setting. 

Let pork stand 15 minutes to cool slightly and then pull apart with two large serving forks.

Place shredded pork back into barbecue sauce and toss together.

Leave on “keep warm” setting.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Slice onion rolls in half and place on baking sheet to warm for a minute or two in oven.

Remove from oven, butter rolls and place a slice of cheddar on each side.

Turn oven to broil and place rolls in oven. 

Broil for just a minute.  Do not leave unattended as cheese melts very quickly.   

Remove rolls and place pulled pork on bottom roll and cover with top roll. 

Serve immediately with side of Broccoli Slaw.

EASY BROCCOLI SLAW INGREDIENTS

1-14 ounce package Broccoli Coleslaw mix

½ cup Dried Cranberries

¼ cup Slivered Almonds

1 teaspoon Salt

½ teaspoon Pepper

2 teaspoons Granulated Sugar

½ - ¾ cup good quality Poppy Seed Dressing

EASY BROCCOLI SLAW INSTRUCTIONS

While pulled pork is cooking …

Mix broccoli slaw, dried cranberries, slivered almonds, salt, pepper and sugar together.

Toss with poppy seed dressing.  Use more or less to taste. 

Chill until serving time.
